Technical Specifications & the BYOD Network
- Schools that participate in BYOD will provide a free, wireless network. This network is required for use if students bring their own device. This eliminates data charges for parents as well.
- Our BYOD Network follows the CIPA filtering guidelines.
- Students should only access websites, apps, etc. that their teacher instructs them to.
- Each school will provide an Acceptable Use Policy for students to adhere to. This is also in accordance to the Greater Albany Public School’s Student Code of Conduct.
- Greater Albany Public School’s staff will not use instructional time to offer technical support on student devices. It is the responsibility of the student toknow how to operate their device. Students should refer to their device’s handbook for technical questions.
- The student’s device must have Wi-Fi capabilities.
- The student’s device should contain a web browser in order to have filtered Internet access.
