I've spent an exhaustive amount of time researching tablets. Here is the breakdown:
- Apple iPad mini - Pros: wide variety of apps already available, just the right size (8 inch is perfect!) Cons: Expensive when compared with other markets products, compatibility could be an issue, and COST!
- Samsung Galaxy tab 3 - Pros: Cost is great at $189, android market is improving for education apps. Cons: Not the best hardware out there for the money, not a long term solution (would become obsolete quickly)
- Asus Nexus 7 (2013) - Pros: Cost is good at $229 (we can purchase almost 2 for every mini), excellent hardware (no chance of becoming obsolete anytime soon) Cons: Google Play for Education is a subscription service and too expensive to purchase. However, I believe I have found a work around for this.
